really really going off the grid this time

exactly one year ago i began writing fiction again (after a five-year break)

well, i've been giving it a lot of thought the past few weeks and have decided to take a nice long break from short fiction

if anything, i'll keep working on the novel

i do plan to keep reading/editing for jmww

i won't be updating this blog much anymore, if at all

thanks to everyone who kindly commented/followed me on here.

new story about baltimore residents attacking their suburban colleagues

I have a new piece up in Sex and Murder.

I am writing this novel like a motherfucker.

Fuck you I won't do what you tell me.

Re that last comment, I am also listening to a group I used to like in high school. I have rage issues.

Two recent acceptances - Bicycle Review ("Why They Kill Presidents") and Dogzplot ("Thin Me")

again with the novel

i am writing a slim novel.

it will be about a covert stutterer. it will thieve portions from some of my short "stutter" stories. it will include much/all of the FRiGG story.

it will be 150-200 very short sections, each about 300-400 words.

last time i vowed to write a novel i lectured my wife at a bob evans for 45 minutes about supporting me this time, how i was so fired up, how uh thanks for asking but i didn't need to outline i just needed to write the damn thing. by the end of the lecture most of our breakfasts were cold and i was drained.

this time i am going to write it.

up in FRiGG

Even when I was writing next to nothing from 03-08, I loved FRiGG. I am thrilled to have placed a story with Ellen Parker's wonderful journal. If I'd had bad parents, I suspect I'd have ended up like the narrator.

I hope you'll check it out here.
